Hair Envy

Recently, I've found myself lusting over long hair. Delta Goodrem is, at least, partly to blame for this as I am forced to sit in from of the telly, pretending to watch The Voice but really just becoming green with envy over Delt's luscious locks. There's just something about lengthy boho hair that screams uninhabited, untamed beauty. Now I'm day-dreaming of posessing this kind of 'do by the time Spring rolls around and practically drowning the folicles on my head in any treatment that promises me healthy, hapy hair that will grow, and grow, and grow. At this point I may even start singing to encourage a lil' growth.. or does that only work with plants?

Backstage with Manning Cartell

Day One at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has without a doubt blown my mind. After working more than 12 hours today behind the scenes at the Romance Was Born and Manning Cartell shows, I've fallen into a heap on my loungeroom floor, physically unable to hold my head up any longer as it explodes with inspiration and excitement. In between unpacking dresses and unzipping models this afternoon at the Scotts Church in Darlinghurst, I managed to snatch a few shots of Manning Cartell's most inspired collection yet.

Once the epic task of getting hair and make-up done for thirty models was completed, it was amazing to see the transformation these girls underwent. Their hair became angelic twists and coils with the lightest sprinkling of candy floss colours throughout, with fresh, dewy, nude faces underneath. A floral bustier thrown in for good measure, and the girls were transformed into pixies or something out of a storybook I might've read when I was little.

More than anything though, I have gone absolutely loco for the jewel in this show. Thick, demanding cuffs of silver and gold and crystal rings that looked as if an entire galaxy was sitting on the girls' fingers. I am lost for words when I try to describe how much I want need the Manning Cartell jewel pieces for next season.

If this is what Fashion Weekhas to offer on the very first day, I cannot wait to see what is next. I only hope my poor little mind will be able to contain my excitement. Or else I might just spontaneously self-combust in the rows of the next show..
